Mr. Hui’s garage door kept opening again after closing only a little way. When we asked him to check the sensor lights, he reported that they were blinking. This signified a problem with lens alignment or cleanliness.
We unplugged the opener, locked the door open, and got to work on the sensors. The lenses both needed cleaning, and the left sensor was about twenty degrees off. There were no problems with vertical alignment, so after cleaning the lenses we loosened the misaligned sensor and turned it back into position.
